New Generation Software (NGS) is presenting IQ Client, a query development module of the NGS business intelligence product family for the System i. With IQ Client, users can develop ad-hoc queries of production reports and save and upload the queries to a native query engine on the System i for storage and processing. Users can revise and run these queries without translation or conversion.

IQ Client features a graphical drag-and-drop query and report writing environment where users work with DB2 for i5/OS data either with or without a live System i or Internet connection. IQ Client supports simple and conditionally calculated fields, multifile joins, runtime prompts, and data delivery via e-mail or FTP.

With NGS-IQ, users gain direct output to Excel, Access, and Word. Users can also use an online analytical processing (OLAP) module to access server data in NGS dashboards and DB2 UDB databases as well as in PDF-, HTML-, XML-, CSV-, and TXT-formatted files. Managers can restrict usage at the file, field, record, and output levels.
